Rising in the mountains
of Monteverde, Costa Rica
La Aurora will serve as an altar for life - a space where science, nature, spirituality, and action intersect. Here, our global center for learning will host retreats, courses, workshops, and celebrations for local, national, and international visitors.
We are 80% complete at the 9-month mark, and are at the cusp of something extraordinary. We invite you to support the completion and birth of La Aurora with a donation today.

What we have left to build
Bathrooms
We are building a connected, accessible “ensuite” bathroom to la Aurora as well as a separate bathroom / shower building and septic system for our guests.
Walls & Windows
The exterior walls have been completed, the next step is to install exterior shingles, insulation, interior walls & upper windows to seal & finish the structure before the rainy season starts in May.
Electricity & Water
Electricity will be installed to a 99% renewable energy grid. We are also going to plumb and connect Aurora to our town’s natural potale spring water source.
Drainage
Because we are in the tropics and soon to enter our 6-month rainy season next month, it is essential that we design & build a smart drainage system for rainwater runoff at & around Aurora.
Veranda & Patio
Finishing the covered veranda & patio as well as benches, tables, & basic food & beverage supplies for students & guests to enjoy a snacks or lunch during activities/ events.
Love lives here
Nestled on a 40-acre nature sanctuary at the base of the world renowned Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, our mountain has been a hub for conservation, ecological restoration, peace studies and arts for decades.
We invite you to join us in supporting the completion and birth of La Aurora and the Center for Sacred Ecology. Your contribution will add to and amplify a collective gift which ensures that we are fully equipped to open doors and step into service as a global center for learning, inspiration and action.
It is our joy to create a space where science, the arts and spirituality weave together to awaken the human heart, in service to all Life. Thank you for joining us.

Thank you for your contribution to our innovative and courageous dream
From the beginning, the Aurora build has been completely funded by donations and is a courageous model where generosity meets vision, built by and for community.
Each element of La Aurora has been carefully designed and tenderly handcrafted
with sustainable materials by local and visiting artisans. We are proud to be an environmentally and socially conscious building project.
The unique tree posts that support our outdoor veranda and the flagstone were sourced at neighboring farms. The main building has been crafted with recycled wood that went unused by SailCargo, a zero emissions ship and cargo building company. In collaboration with AstilleroVerde, we are crafting a mountain temple that reflects the peace and magnificence of Monteverde, built with intention and love.
Every contribution to La Aurora supports the circular economy within our Bellbird Biological Corridor. This project has meaningfully supported our neighbors by sourcing materials with local businesses and paying fair wages to independent laborers living within the bioregion.
